Terms of Service

Important: WillKeeper is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. The Will produced by WillKeeper is a document drafted by an AI system based on information you provide. It is your responsibility to ensure the content is accurate and that your Will is executed correctly. If your situation is complex, we strongly recommend consulting a qualified solicitor.

1. About WillKeeper

WillKeeper is a Will creation and storage service operated by AMI Financial Solutions Limited, a private limited company registered in Scotland (Company Number SC533818). Registered office: 1 Ravenstone Drive, Giffnock, Glasgow, Scotland, G46 6AL.

WillKeeper is a Will-writing service. Will-writing is not a regulated activity in the United Kingdom. AMI Financial Solutions Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority for certain credit-related activities. Will-writing is not a regulated activity in the UK and is not covered by that FCA authorisation.

2. The Service

WillKeeper provides:

An AI-guided interview to collect the information required for your Will.
A drafted Will document based on the information you provide.
Cryptographic sealing and permanent encrypted storage of your Will.
Secure access to your Will via a magic link sent to your email address.
The ability to update your Will at any time while your subscription is active.
Release of your Will to your named executor on presentation of a certified death certificate.

3. What WillKeeper Is Not

WillKeeper does not provide legal advice. The AI interview is designed to gather information — it is not a substitute for professional legal counsel. WillKeeper does not:

Review your Will for legal sufficiency in your specific circumstances.
Advise on inheritance tax planning.
Advise on trust structures or complex estate arrangements.
Verify that the information you provide is accurate or complete.
Guarantee that your Will will not be successfully challenged.

4. Suitability

WillKeeper is designed for straightforward Wills. It may not be suitable if:

You have a blended family or children from multiple relationships.
You own a business, partnership interest, or significant shareholding.
You have assets in more than one country.
Your estate may be subject to inheritance tax (broadly, estates over £325,000).
You wish to create a trust for minor children or vulnerable beneficiaries.
There are family members who might contest your Will.
There are concerns about your mental capacity to make a Will.

During the interview, WillKeeper will flag if your answers suggest your situation may benefit from specialist legal advice. We take this responsibility seriously.

5. Execution of Your Will

A Will created by WillKeeper is a draft document. For it to be legally valid, it must be executed correctly:

Scotland: You must sign and date every page of your Will in your own hand. No witnesses are required.
England, Wales and Northern Ireland: You must sign your Will in the physical presence of two independent witnesses who must also sign in your presence. Witnesses cannot be beneficiaries or their spouses/civil partners. Video witnessing is not currently valid.

WillKeeper provides guidance on execution but cannot verify that your Will has been correctly executed. You are responsible for ensuring correct execution.

6. Storage and Permanence

Your Will is stored permanently on WillKeeper's encrypted servers. It will not be deleted even if your subscription lapses, you cancel, or WillKeeper ceases trading. In the event that WillKeeper ceases to operate, we will provide at least 90 days' notice and ensure your Will is made available to you for download.

7. Subscription and Payment

The Solo plan is £2 per month. The Couples plan is £3 per month.
Payment is processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically each month.
You may cancel your subscription at any time via the billing portal.
Cancellation stops future charges but does not delete your Will.
Will updates require an active subscription. You may still access and download your existing Will without an active subscription.
Refunds are not available for partial months.

8. Access Links

Access to your Will is provided via a secure magic link sent to your email address. These links expire after 30 days as a security measure. Fresh links can be requested at any time from the WillKeeper website. You are responsible for keeping your email account secure.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AMI Financial Solutions Limited shall not be liable for:

Any loss arising from the legal insufficiency or contestation of a Will created using WillKeeper.
Any loss arising from incorrect execution of your Will.
Any loss arising from inaccurate or incomplete information provided during the interview.
Any indirect, consequential, or special loss of any kind.

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the total subscription fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email with at least 30 days' notice before they take effect.
